This is an overview of the release history of simpleContact Pro, with details of the next update.

Version 2.1 (free update) – Release date TBC
simpleContact Pro 2.0 has support for English and most Western European languages with Latin-1 text encoding. Version 2.1 will extend support to all worldwide languages with UTF-8 text encoding.
Please note:
- This will revise the minimum requirements, making MySQL 4.1 the earliest compatible version
- Although the application will handle other languages, the interface and documentation will be in UK English

Version 2.0 – 30 October 2008
Launch release of simpleContact Pro. The “2.0” version number is assigned to distinguish it from simpleContact Lite.
Includes the following key features:
- Automagical installation – enter your database info and upload
- One-click upgrade for simpleContact Lite users transfers settings and data
- Smart default settings to save you time
- Browser-based admin with messages inbox
- New form builder which supports custom fields
- Client-side and server-side form validation
- Multiple email recipients
- Email autoresponder with personalisation
- Single or double opt-in mailing list
- CSV mailing list export, ready to use with mailers like Campaign Monitor
- Built with web standards and integrates easily with your website
Minor changes in comparison to simpleContact Lite 1.2:
- Refactored password reset (includes a fix for a minor bug)
- “Blank slate” page with suggestions is shown when inbox is empty
- Logo and miscellaneous layout / copy improvements
- CSS adjustments for Firefox 3
- New versions of jQuery and PHPMailer
- Documentation is an HTML file, rather than a PDF
- Links to support forums
- Containing folder removed, to prevent misunderstanding about what should be uploaded
- Rating form removed from logout screen – moved to documentation
